Your own land and Permaculture intro

Location
A smallholding near Helston owned for seven years with a variety of small fields, polytunnel and livestock.

Course Information
This course runs over 2 days: Saturday & Sunday.
You will experience permaculture theory and get to know it through a site tour and practical exercises, as well as get a feel for the issues associated with getting your own land.

What to bring
Food to share for lunch
Sturdy boots
Clothes to keep you warm and dry in case of wet/cold/windy weather
Sunscreen and hat in case of warm weather
A notebook and pens (some coloured pens are useful for the design exercise)

Course outline
Saturday: introduction, ethics, principles: basic ecology, multiple functions, stacking, everything cycles/outputs - inputs,
Sunday: Observation, zones, sectors, surveying, design process

Includes practicals and other outdoor activities where possible.
A short wild food walk is always included.
