Introduction to Permaculture at High Heathercombe

Dates & times

9th to 11th March 2012
Arrival Friday late afternoon, in time to settle in. Leaving Sunday around 4.
Come early if you'd like to go for a walk onto Dartmoor. Food will be provided from
Friday evening to Sunday lunch.

Course Information
This course runs over 2.5 days: Friday evening, Saturday & Sunday.
High Heathercombe is host to many Permaculture courses and has a strong perma culture.
You will experience permaculture theory and get to know it through a site tour and practical exercises.

What to bring
Sturdy boots
Clothes to keep you warm and dry in case of wet/cold weather
Sunscreen and hat in case of warm weather
A notebook and pens (some coloured pens are useful for the design exercise)

Course outline
Firday evening: introduction & overview
Saturday: Ethics, Principles: basic ecology, multiple functions, stacking, everything cycles/outputs - inputs,
Sunday: Observation, zones, sectors, surveying, design

Includes practicals and other outdoor activities where possible.
A short wild food walk is always included.
